So, I'm engaged. To a really handsome, fit guy. He works out (of course he does). He actually likes to exercise. Sick, I know.
He can eat just about anything and get away with it because he has a lot of muscle. Does it make me a bad person that secretly I sometimes want to spit on his cheeseburger because I resent his ability to eat it (and wash it down with a strawberry shake) and work it off with a few good sneezes?
Probably.
Ok, I'm exaggerating. But only a little.
He does lift weights and he does have a pretty physical job, which help him. If he feels like he's overdoing it, he will eat more salad, drink more water and politely pass on dessert. He quit drinking pop for the most part. It just seems like it's so easy for him to maintain a healthy weight and compensate for overindulgences. It's all that muscle. Men.
Please pardon me while I throw myself on the floor now and pound my fists as I wail at the injustice of it all. I do, after all, need to get in my workout for the day.
I hate men... ;)

THANX!!! And congradulations on the engagement!!! Take care!!!
That's not where the injustice ends, Pam. They wrinkle later, they have stronger stomachs & in my country, they can pretty much pee wherever they want to - just whip it out and get it done.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
Agreed, men suck :)
ReplyDeleteAn FYI for you gals, what you put IN your body is just as important as what you put ON it. Here's a great short video about healthy/not so healthy cosmetics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQYxkMVexo0

Men do have it a little easier than women. Muscle mass do burn more calories, but men also have more testosterone which decides the amount of muscle mass you can build and therefor will always burn more calories compared to a women. A man will always have more testosterone and less female hormones than a women. Working out with weights though will increase the testosterone in a women and lower cravings, so that is always positive. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat I like best about your post is the end of your post - of course I enjoy your humor (which will take you far)- but in the end you say it like it is - and it is about what we decide to do for ourselves. About doing the best we can, with what we've got, where we're at. And I can see that's exactly what you're doing.
One of my pet peeves is that I'm short. When I first began my healthy weight journey I began to walk, started jogging about 70 pounds off later - and almost everybody can walk/jog/run MUCH faster than me - why? Because I have short little legs:)
Even after 30 years exercising and staying at a healthy weight most people are faster than me - but that's OK - I just keep going.
Great blog and to see your journey!
